Angry Birds Space won’t be landing on Windows Phones
by Ben Abbott at 7:41 pm on Friday, 23 March 2012

In a surprise revelation made during an interview with Bloomberg (an organisation focussing on business and financial information), Rovio’s chief marketing officer Peter Vesterbacka has confirmed that Angry Birds Space won’t be making the jump to Windows Phones due to the fact that it is “a big undertaking to support it, and you have to completely rewrite the application”.

“We want to be on all screens,” he went on to add, “but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it's a lot of work to technically support it”. Elsewhere Nomura analyst Richard Windsor commented that this turn of events “is a worrying development for Windows Phone because it suggests that Rovio does not have much confidence in its future”. Although Nokia - who make the Windows Phone - had no comment earlier today, the company’s shares were down 0.6 percent in Helsinki trading just after midday.
