Fire Emblem 3DS coming to North America
by Andrew Testerman at 3:31 am on Thursday, 7 June 2012

Though Nintendo's Wednesday night 3DS event presented few new announcements, Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aime did announce one bit of news. Jason Schreier of Kotaku tweeted that he spoke with Fils-Aime, who confirmed that the newest entry in the Fire Emblem series (subtitled "Awakening" in Japan) will be coming to North America for the 3DS.

Given the popularity of the Fire Emblem series outside of Japan, its absence from Nintendo's 3DS-specific event is a bit surprising. Still, Fils-Aime's confirmation that the series will release another entry in America (the first since the 2008's Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon) should hearten fans of Intelligent System's turn-based strategy games.
